Role overview:
Needham Market Academy is seeking a motivated and organised Girls’ Recruitment & Academy Coach to help grow the girls’ programme, build strong links with local schools and colleges, and deliver high quality coaching within the Academy pathway.
About the Role
Needham Market Academy is committed to increasing participation and creating more opportunities for girls within the Academy pathway. This role has been established to drive the recruitment and development of female players, strengthen relationships with local schools and colleges, and support the continued growth of the girls’ programme. Alongside recruitment responsibilities, the postholder will deliver coaching sessions and support the promotion of the Academy through digital communications.
Key Responsibilities
Girls’ Recruitment and Development
The postholder will:
• Lead the recruitment of girls into Needham Market Academy programmes.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with local primary schools, secondary schools, colleges and community organisations.
• Attend school visits, careers events, open evenings and recruitment events as agreed with the Line Manager.
• Organise and coordinate recruitment opportunities, including taster sessions, festivals and promotional events.
• Arrange and attend meetings with schools, colleges and partner organisations to develop new recruitment pathways.
• Identify opportunities to increase participation and raise the profile of girls’ football within the Academy.
• Maintain regular contact with prospective players and their families where appropriate.
Coaching
The postholder will:
• Deliver Academy coaching sessions on Wednesday afternoons and either Tuesday or Friday, as agreed with the Line Manager.
• Deliver one-to-one coaching sessions where required. • Deliver coaching sessions to small groups.
• Lead larger group sessions on Wednesdays when other Academy coaches are unavailable.
• Ensure all sessions are planned, delivered safely and reflect the Academy’s coaching philosophy and standards.
Communications and Promotion
The postholder will:
• Create and publish social media content promoting the girls’ programme and wider Academy activities.
• Produce news stories celebrating player achievements, events and Academy successes.
• Develop promotional resources to support recruitment and engagement.
• Assist in maintaining a positive public profile for Needham Market Academy.
General Responsibilities
The postholder will:
• Report directly to Graham Emmerson.
• Attend regular planning, supervision and review meetings.
• Work collaboratively with Academy staff, coaches and volunteers.
• Represent Needham Market Academy professionally at all times.
• Complete duties within agreed timescales and maintain appropriate records where required.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by the Line Manager that are consistent with the purpose of the role.
Working Hours and Location
• Work the contracted 8 hours per week in accordance with the duties of the role.
• Time spent attending schools, colleges, recruitment events, meetings and coaching sessions towards the contracted hours.
• Complete remaining contracted hours at Needham Market Academy when not undertaking external visits, coaching sessions or other approved off-site duties.
• Use Academy-based time for recruitment planning, administration, coaching session preparation, promotional resource development, social media activity and any other duties associated with the role, as directed by the Line Manager.
• Weekly schedules will vary depending on events
• Agree any variation to the normal working location or working pattern in advance with the Line Manager.
Performance Expectations
Performance will be reviewed regularly through one-to-one meetings with the Line Manager and measured against agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
