Needham Market Academy have launched ‘Half-Time Chats’, a new initiative that offers students the opportunity to talk to inspirational individuals to gain an insight into the sports industry.
Academy students were delighted to be joined by Premier League and England National Goalkeeper Nick Pope for their first session of ‘Half-Time Chats’. Nick shared his journey as a local academy player to professional football, highlights of his career so far, and the challenges faced. Students were also given the opportunity to ask additional questions to gain a better understanding of what it’s like being one of the highest-ranked goalkeepers in England.
‘Half-Time Chats’ is designed to provide students with a further understanding of the different sectors within the sports industry. Key individuals are invited to talk about their career to help inspire and enrich student studies.
Operations & Academy Director Robert Peace said: “It is important that we provide our students with real life examples of individuals who have progressed within the sports sector. There will be a wide range of individuals involved, providing a holistic approach to the world of sport which allows our students to have a unique insight into the industry and help provide information into their chosen career paths.”
Clips of the session will be released over the next week via our social media platforms.
