Callum Page signs pro deal with ITFC

We’re delighted to announce that Needham Market Academy graduate, Callum Page, has signed a professional contract with Ipswich Town Football Club.

Callum, aged 19, has been on trial for ITFC U23’s over the last few months and has now signed his first professional contract with the club after impressing Kieron Dyer and Terry Butcher during his trial period.

Back in the 2016/17 season, Callum joined Needham Market Football Club as a EJA U16 and over the last four years, has processed through to the full time Needham Market Academy education program. During his time at Needham Market Academy, Callum took his opportunities and excelled in U18, Reserves and First Team football.

Needham Market First Team & Academy Manager, Kevin Horlock said: “This is not only a big moment for Callum, but also a big moment for Needham Market Football Club. Callum’s family must be very proud of him as we all are and it’s a testament to Callum’s hard work and willingness to develop that gives him the right to now call himself a professional footballer.”

“Callum was a pleasure to coach and teach during his time at the academy and we all wish him well in his football journey and will always be welcomed back to visit us at Bloomfield’s.”

Robert Peace, Operations & Academy Director at Needham Market Academy is delighted for Callum and his family on this achievement: “Callum has worked very hard throughout his time with Needham Market FC and our Academy. He has taken all opportunities to best develop himself and I am pleased we were able to help on his journey. Callum has a bright future in the game, and he knows his hard work needs to continue.”

“This is a big moment for Needham Market Academy with Callum being the first student to sign a professional contract. This is something we have strived for over the years and this showcases the opportunities available to students within our Academy for future years.”
